Ann's Challenge

Morning all,

Another beautiful morning here in sunny Townsville, just got back from the markets to pick up some fresh fruit and veg (still on the diet, but shhh... had a little blow out last night). Well I have officially gone challenge mad, I have participated in Ann Craig's colour challenge (Ann is my Uplines, Upline). This is Ann's first challenge, and I have found it quite fun to do. The colours that we had to use were, Pink, Amethyst, Celery and Vanilla. So again I have made a card and used only the Dreams du Jour stamp set, I absolutely love this set for the price it is so versatile. Anywho here is my card, I hope you like it. Ohh almost forgot, I have also used Tea Party DSP, and Dazzling Diamonds.

Mojo Monday

Hi all.

I am participating in my very first challenge. I have decided to do this weeks Mojo Monday you can find the site here.

I have gone for more masculine colours with this card not normally my style but I think it works. I have used Basic Grey as my base card, Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze, Urban Garden DSP, White Grosgrain ribbon that I have coloured using Kiwi Kiss ink, scallop circle punch, 1/38" circle punch, vintage brads and for the stamps I have used Inspired by Nature and Pocket Silhouettes, all Stampin' Up! product.

I really enjoyed participating in this challenge it got the creativeness flowing.

Project Board

Me again.

While I was at convention I learnt so much cool new stuff both to do with different techniques, cost saving ideas and also some business tips. What I didn't learn off anyone in particular but did take notice of was the fantastic display boards that were all around in the main dining/make and take hall, so when I came home and unpacked all of my convention goodies I come up with the idea to dust off my old cork board that I got from a $2 shop ages ago and tack some black fabric on it and make my own display board. I used some of my many swaps that I received as well as my own.

I am really happy how it turned out and my customers really like it also, it helps me preserve all of my displays, it is easy to change out different projects and best of all it gives a lot of different styles and techniques in one small space. Fellow demos why not try it out for yourself.

Pocket Silhouettes Invitation

Hi all.

I thought I would share with you a very easy and cost effective invitation. I love making invitations and actually I have made quite a few sets of them, I made my own wedding invitations, my sister-in-laws wedding invitations also her hens party and my other sister-in-laws baby shower as well as my past work's Corporate Invites... Wow, come to think of it I have done quite a few.

I have used Pocket Silhouettes and also Please Come stamp sets accented with Raspberry Tart DSP on Pink Pirouette base with Blush Blossom and tied it off with White Grosgrain Ribbon that I dyed with my dauber and Pink Pirouette ink (I think I have just found my new favouritist technique - daubing). And also I have stamped my vines into my Whisper White envelope so the whole set matches.

I hope you enjoy and see what you can create using this simple but effective template

Scrap Layout

Evening all.

I have been a little MIA lately, I had a bit of a melt down last Thursday and have been trying to pick myself up again... story goes like this. My DH and I went to the Home Hill Growers Races on Saturday, and I thought that I had all of my outfit organised, I was going to wear what I wore last year to DH work race event, so I came home from work on Thursday afternoon (after nipping out to buy just a pair of shoes to match, because I have wore the heal of the ones I was going to wear) anyway, so I come home had a shower and tried on my races outfit (that I wore only 9 months ago) to my disgust found that it was now skin tight, but that never has stopped anyone before has it. So I get it up over my hips then onto my shoulders do my zip up (very stretchy dress) then breath a sigh of relief and as I am breathing out my zip pops (arghhhh) so this is when the crisis starts, I can't get the thing off because it now doesn't fit over my head can't get the zip down because it has busted. So I get onto the phone to DH (he is still at work) "THERE IS A CRISIS AT HOME", he thinking that the place is on fire or the dog is missing, "what's wrong", "MY BEAUTIFUL CUE DRESS THAT I HAVE ONLY WORE ONCE DOESN'T FIT AND THE ZIP IS BUSTED AND I CAN'T GET IT OFF" after he laughs at me said "that's OK darling we will go tonight and buy you another one" I was a little calmer. BUT... I finally get the thing off and try on a back up dress (a girl can never have to many dresses), the backup doesn't fit also, so we went out and bought a new dress, shoes and jewelery. So much for me thinking it will be a cheap weekend. So long story short guess who is on a diet...... So this week has been very busy preparing food and doing a little exercise. Now ladies can you see my drama. But in the end we had a fantastic day at the races and I also had a couple of wins.

So for a post. I showed you earlier my take on Shelli's card she made at convention, well I have also created an 8x8 scrap layout, which my lovely ladies who came to the May workshop made.

I have used Pink Pirouette as my base, Kraft, Very Vanilla and card stock, then complimented with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink and used the ever so versatile Versamark with my Pastels, I have also accented with Pink Pirouette in the flowers, and also cannot forget the Pretties Kit and White Grosgrain ribbon. This layout really shows off how beautiful the Friends 24-7 and matching wheel are. Love it, this is definitely my favourite set out of the new catty.

I hope you enjoy... Until next time and hopefully a few kilos lighter...

Welcome

Welcome, to my very first member of my team. Mellissa Westhorp, I am so excited that Mel has joined the Stampin' Up family. We have been very good friends for a long time, started out as cheerleading buddies and have now grown up together. She has a beautiful family two gorgeous sons (my god children) and a loving and supportive husband. Mel signed up through this months fantastic promotion for only $150, it truly is a great way to get your own business off and running for a very small outlay.

So welcome Mellissa to our little family.

P.s I cannot wait for the road trips to start again, Field and Regional Trainings and also CONVENTION. I think we will have our second share in Gloria's' starting up again...

Workshop

Morning All.

Just a quick post to say a big thank-you to the 9 lovely ladies that I had at my home yesterday. I hope you had as much fun as I had teaching you some new techniques. We made 4 lovely projects starting with a simple bookmark (to get the creativeness flowing through our veins) then we went onto a simple 2 month desk calendar then made a gorgeous card (the one I had as my swap at convention) then lastly a beautiful 8x8 scrap page which incorporated a few different techniques. I hope you all had fun and can't wait until next quarter to do it all over again.

Cards

Hi there.
As it is mothers day tomorrow, I thought I would show you what I have made my Mum, Grandma, Mother-in-law and my husband's Nanna. I have used the gorgeous Friends 24-7 stamp set along with the matching jumbo wheel. At convention Shelli showed us how to create the beautiful card, so I have tried to replicate it with my own twist. I hope you enjoy.
Happy Mothers Day,
Kylie

Hi there,

Well who thought I had fallen off the face of the Earth.... But I haven't, I have just landed back in Townsville this afternoon from 09 Stampin' Up! Convention in Canberra. What a few days, convention was fantastic. I have learnt so many new tips and tricks with not only the stamping side but also the business side of things. Loved it and now I definitely can't wait for next year. I met some fantastic demos from all over Australia in particular some very lovely ladies from Canberra.

I will post some photo's soon and also what I made for my swaps.

See you Soon.
