HELP.......

Hello lovely ladies.
Well it has been quite a while since I last blogged. Like everything and everyone life really does take over and before you know it 2 months have passed us by with a blink of an eye. The Maher household has been quite busy of late, we have had great friends of ours visit from Canberra, hubby has had his 30th birthday bash and amongst all that both of us have been working out of town quite a bit. Hubby has been in Home Hill and I have been about 30km from Greenvale at the Lynd Junction, we are building 21km of road (I am an Project Administrator for Watpac) so don't personally get on the end of the shovel but do all of there paperwork, and boy is there some paperwork sometimes I think it would be easier to get on the end of the shovel or be the stop go girl...

So apart from working non stop and hubby's birthday over I now have time to concentrate on events that I have planned for the next half of the year and one of those events is my 30th Grrrrrrrr. I am slowly accepting that I am not going to be in my 20's for much longer but gosh it's hard. So why not go out with a bang hey, and nothing better than a PARTY. I know I'm a little early (30 in November) but I actually got a little excited yesterday and started on an invitation for myself. I really liked how it turned out but it is missing something off the front and this is where I would like you guys to come in with your creativeness. Can you please help me, I am thinking a sparkly 30 down the bottom corner or party... not quite sure. Please tell me what you think!

Anyway, lovely ladies have to get back to my jobs, going out with my bestie that I haven't seen for about 2 months later today.

Take care and hope to be back here soon.

Kylie.

Downtime Cards

Hi all.

In my downtime a few weeks ago I made a few cards, I have already posted a couple and this is the last of them that I thought you would like to see. The first card I got my inspiration from our monthly newsletter that us demonstrators receive from Stampin' Up!. I get so excited when this comes, because it is filled with so much useful information, and knew that I had to give this ago. What I have done is mix my picture stamps with sayings and punched them out with my 1" circle punch, and teamed it up with matching inks. I just love this idea.
The next card is quite simple to do and is quite effective. I have stamped my Crazy for Cupcakes stamp onto Water Colour C/S in Staz on Black ink and coloured in with my markers and Aqua Painter. for the outer of the card I have stuck to clean simple straight lines with no distressing at all, I think that the Water Colour section of the card is enough texture.
I would love to hear what you think.

Take care and happy stamping

Kylie.

A little bit of time off

Hi ladies.

Well I would like to say welcome back to my little piece of the www. Of late I have been extremely busy with life in general, I have taken on a new project at work ( I am a Project Site Administration Clerk for Watpac Civil) which has taken up allot of my brain space, but slowly I am getting on top of everything ;-) I had to back track about 12 weeks of work, but hey I am always up for a challenge. Also I have started Boot Camp again which is another huge challenge, so slowly I am getting in the right frame of mind again which is good love my routine... Anyway, don't want to bore you with excuses for being absent since last year.

So below is a few creations that I have made, while my brain has been full of work stuff it has had very little room for creativeness. I hope you enjoy, and will be back with more.

Stamps: Friends 24/7
Card Stock: Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White
Inks: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers, Daubers, Aqua Painter
All products used are from Stampin' Up!

Inkspirations Inspirations Challenge #14!

Hi again.
With my swaps for Regionals this year I am doing something a little different, I have given myself 1 sketch to work with and 5 different stamp sets. But I am using different colours. Confused!!! well I have 5 cards that I have made up in a colour combo and I have replicated those 5 cards with different colour combos, catching on now. And one of those combos I have decided to use inspiration from Makeesha Byl's Inspiration Challenge, Inspiration for the others I will show soon but if you are close to me you will know one (what am I currently obsessed with?)

So here are my 5 cards, I hope you like them. They are very simple and I have only managed to do simple stamping, paper piercing and a tiny bit of water colouring.

Take Care
Kylie.
Ps. My craft table amongst all of the confusion.

DT Call

Evening

When I was visiting fellow SU Demo's site I found The Stamp Spot a cute website that is calling for DT members. So I thought why not apply and see how you go... we had to submit a card using the below sketch and send through a little bio about yourself, pretty simple isn't it. So if you have been thinking that this might me something that you would like to give a go why not, applications close on Friday. So here is my card that I submitted. Hope you like it.

Scrap Layout

Evening all.

I have been a little MIA lately, I had a bit of a melt down last Thursday and have been trying to pick myself up again... story goes like this. My DH and I went to the Home Hill Growers Races on Saturday, and I thought that I had all of my outfit organised, I was going to wear what I wore last year to DH work race event, so I came home from work on Thursday afternoon (after nipping out to buy just a pair of shoes to match, because I have wore the heal of the ones I was going to wear) anyway, so I come home had a shower and tried on my races outfit (that I wore only 9 months ago) to my disgust found that it was now skin tight, but that never has stopped anyone before has it. So I get it up over my hips then onto my shoulders do my zip up (very stretchy dress) then breath a sigh of relief and as I am breathing out my zip pops (arghhhh) so this is when the crisis starts, I can't get the thing off because it now doesn't fit over my head can't get the zip down because it has busted. So I get onto the phone to DH (he is still at work) "THERE IS A CRISIS AT HOME", he thinking that the place is on fire or the dog is missing, "what's wrong", "MY BEAUTIFUL CUE DRESS THAT I HAVE ONLY WORE ONCE DOESN'T FIT AND THE ZIP IS BUSTED AND I CAN'T GET IT OFF" after he laughs at me said "that's OK darling we will go tonight and buy you another one" I was a little calmer. BUT... I finally get the thing off and try on a back up dress (a girl can never have to many dresses), the backup doesn't fit also, so we went out and bought a new dress, shoes and jewelery. So much for me thinking it will be a cheap weekend. So long story short guess who is on a diet...... So this week has been very busy preparing food and doing a little exercise. Now ladies can you see my drama. But in the end we had a fantastic day at the races and I also had a couple of wins.

So for a post. I showed you earlier my take on Shelli's card she made at convention, well I have also created an 8x8 scrap layout, which my lovely ladies who came to the May workshop made.

I have used Pink Pirouette as my base, Kraft, Very Vanilla and card stock, then complimented with Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip ink and used the ever so versatile Versamark with my Pastels, I have also accented with Pink Pirouette in the flowers, and also cannot forget the Pretties Kit and White Grosgrain ribbon. This layout really shows off how beautiful the Friends 24-7 and matching wheel are. Love it, this is definitely my favourite set out of the new catty.

I hope you enjoy... Until next time and hopefully a few kilos lighter...

Cards

Hi there.
As it is mothers day tomorrow, I thought I would show you what I have made my Mum, Grandma, Mother-in-law and my husband's Nanna. I have used the gorgeous Friends 24-7 stamp set along with the matching jumbo wheel. At convention Shelli showed us how to create the beautiful card, so I have tried to replicate it with my own twist. I hope you enjoy.
Happy Mothers Day,
Kylie
